Wide selfie poses and ideas

Short answerUse the space: put the scenery behind you, bring friends in from the edges, play with perspective by holding something near the lens, or step back and include your whole outfit.
Scenery
Stand so the landmark or view fills the top half of the frame. Keep your face away from the very edge.
Groups
Arrange people in a curve towards the phone rather than a flat line, so everyone is a similar distance from the lens.
Perspective play
Wide lenses exaggerate closeness. A hand, a drink or a pet near the lens looks huge, which can be fun on purpose.
Movement
Record a short clip walking or turning. The wide view keeps more of the scene in frame as you move.
Questions
Do wide selfies distort faces?
Faces near the edges and very close to the lens stretch. Keep faces nearer the middle.
A camera built for this
Music Wide Selfie is an iPhone camera app: the widest front view your iPhone supports, with your music still playing.
One email when the app is ready. Nothing else.
